Mass Graves and Failed Exhumations in Sri Lanka

The Centre for Human Rights and Development CHRD International Centre for Ethnic Studies ICES Womens Action Network WAN and the Families of the Disappeared FoD jointly Launched the report Mass Graves and Failed Exhumations in Sri Lanka on 22nd June 2023 at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies BCIS BMICH Colombo. A documentary In Plain Sight was also screened at the same event.Dr Mario Gomez Executive Director of International Centre for Ethnic Studies ICES illustrated the documentary in publication sight on which extensively covered aspects of enforced disappearance and Mass graves in Sri Lanka.Being the Director of Centre for Human Rights and Development CHRD Mr K S Ratnavale Attorney at Law spoke on his experience CHRD had in dealing with Mass grave such as Thiruketheeswaram Mannar Sathosa and currently Kokkuthoduvai in Mullaiteevu.Similarly Mr Upul Kumarapperuma Attorney at Law also shared his experience in dealing with Mass graves litigation in the South.
