Call for protection of labor migrants rights in Qatar.

A press conference 15th August 2017 at the organization of professional associations of Sri Lanka to highlight the hardships faced by the Sri Lankan migrant workers in Qatar since they won the bid to host the 2022 FIFA world cup. At the press conference CHRD emphasized on the need to improve and enhance the existing system and to call on the government of Sri Lanka to stop deploying potential workers to Qatar until and unless the Government of Qatar complies with international standards and allow the independent commission to carry out inquiry into violations committed in Qatar. A campaign statement was released signed by civil society organizations and activists was released.
